Easy Origami
My name is Nicholas and I am twelve years old and love making origami art . This is something that is easy and sometimes difficult but fun to do. You don’t need anything more than paper, an imagination and possibly some help from a book. I also like playing baseball, basketball, reading, games, and playing with my friends and dog. Spending time alone working with origami is really fun too.
It all started when I was eight years old in Hawaii with my parents at a restaurant. The staff working the restaurant that we were at had used origami to fold the napkins at each place-setting. Then I saw origami animals and other cool stuff out of paper and wanted to learn and that’s exactly what I did.
I like origami because you are able to build animals and other cool things just using paper. You can use them to do puppet shows, for presents and other gifts and just to show your friends how they can make cool things out of paper too.
I hope you have as much fun as I do with Origami Art.
Here are a few finished Origami pieces of mine. More will be added soon.
Brief Origami History
Paper folding became known as Origami in Japan during the 6th century, combining two words “ori” (fold) and “gami” (paper).
Origami has become known as the term for decorative paper folding, and is used to make many three dimensional shapes out of different paper folds. These range from paper airplanes and decorative napkin folds to artistic and imaginitave animal shapes, creative shapes out of dollar bills and more. There are many books on origami and its designs in every library. There are even calendars that depict different designs for each day.
